Software Engineer in Test

Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for developing and executing components of sophisticated software tests to identify software problems and their causes for small self-contained projects; writing automated test suites for unit, function, and system tests and conducting hands-on testing for tools and frameworks to improve the performance, availability, security, and scalability of the cloud platform; documenting and analyzing test results; participating in product feature development from the early design stages and assisting in quality assurance testing for final product release of moderately-complex software; participating in component design reviews; reporting bugs and verifying fixes; and evaluating product performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

OR

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test (or related occupation) performing development or quality engineering of web-based and desktop applications.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AJAX for front-end programming to design web applications and services; and designing and developing reusable web components using JavaScript with web frameworks -- AngularJS, ReactJS, NodeJS, Dojo, or jQuery.
• Demonstrated expertise performing end-to-end and API testing using JavaScript libraries for browser automation and testing frameworks - Puppeteer or Playwright.
• Demonstrated expertise applying data structures and algorithmic programming concepts to MATLAB and JavaScript development.
• Demonstrated expertise using continuous integration system -- Jenkins, GitHub, TeamFoundationServer, SVN, or Perforce -- within an Agile development environment.
