Software Engineer - Intelligence Tooling Team

Our Opportunity

The Intelligence Tooling team is responsible for building and maintaining tooling to support the writing of rules for Snyk Code - both tooling used internally by Snyk security analysts and engineers, and also customer accessible tooling via the Snyk Code Custom Rules feature. Our internal tooling includes backend systems and VS Code plugins, and aims to make our security analysts and researchers more efficient and to magnify their impact. Our customer-facing features include front-end and middleware systems, giving Snyk’s customers the ability to write their own detection rules that can be run as part Snyk Code scans and bringing the power of the Snyk Code engine to their own DevSec teams. 

We are looking for a talented senior software engineer with a passion for creative problem solving to join the Intelligence Tooling team and our journey in building the best tools we can for customers and for Snykers. You’ll Spend Your Time: 

• Collaborating with your team to shape our products with a bias for action, and focus on iterative delivery
• Actively contributing code while assuming full ownership and responsibility for all implemented changes
• Working with your team members to create actionable plans to further elevate the developer experience in our tooling
• Solving challenges such as reliability, code complexity and scaling
• Applying feedback and new knowledge on a broad scale, clearly communicating how actions enable team progress
• Helping guide fellow developers through insightful coaching and mentorship, ensuring the successful completion of assigned tasks
• Leading by example and fostering an environment of inclusion and growth through pairing, feedback and mentoring
• Owning and driving development of features, including across teams

What You’ll Need:

• High standards for code quality, testing, and iterative, continuous delivery 
• Experience with full-stack development 
• A drive to develop automation and tooling to enhance analysts velocity and enable innovation
• Collaboration skills for pair programming and code reviews
