Software Engineer Intern

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a software engineering intern in the Syracuse NY office for the summer 2022. This internship will be focused on supporting programs within our defense and intelligence customer segments. Candidate will be challenged to think outside the box, work independently as well as on a team, and develop your engineering skills. SRC's goal is to give you applicable experience in electronic warfare analysis and software development so you can launch your career in the defense contracting field.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a cross functional Agile software development team
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle
• Build new products and services from the ground up
• Think abstractly and solve ambiguous/undefined problems

Requirements

• Minimum two years of college working toward a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
• A minimum grade point average of 3.3. Most recent transcript is required with application. (Unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Must be innovative and able to think outside the box

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with some of:
• Java
• Python
• C/C++ for Linux Systems
• Linux kernel and kernel module development
• JavaScript
• Web Services and RESTful APIs
• Client-Side Web Programming (React)
• Object Oriented Design Principals
• Containerization (Docker)
• Kubernetes
• Agile Development methodologies
• Familiarity with software unit testing
