Software Engineer Intern - Summer 2023
Job Description
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking Interns to learn and aide with one or more of our retail solutions. These include point of sale (POS), customer loyalty solutions, and mobile applications (Android, iOS). Many technologies are used including SaaS (Software as a Service), SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), MoM (Message Oriented Middleware), cloud computing, Enterprise, and Desktop Java Development.
Areas of Expertise & Special Skills:
- Current Computer Science/Engineering major
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work in teams
- Software development experience with Java. C++, or similar.
- Cloud experience is a plus.
- Learn about how our products go from an idea to a fully-fledged product
- Learn about our product offerings and how our clients use them
- Ability to work (development) on one of our products
- Experience working with small format processors (PI, Arduino, etc)
- Some experience working with a variety of electromechanical devices
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
Major Responsibilities:
- Work on a team to deliver code/unit tests/function test and automated tests for business-critical functionality
- Work with team on defects that arise from our client
- Construct unit test cases and perform unit test before checking in the code. Test functionality of code developed by other team members
- Learn about how our products go from an idea to a fully-fledged product
- Perform other tasks as assigned
The candidate will be working on the next generation platform product. Toshiba is investing heavily on this next gen project as it bridges the gap between the old POS devices and the new innovative edge devices.
This role involves hands on coding/programming using Java or similar programming language.
