Software Engineer, Internal Data Strategy

The Role 

We are seeking a highly qualified and talented technologist to join a newly created team, Internal Data Strategy. The IDS program has been established to deliver business-driven data and analytics governance, which will enable Schonfeld to achieve business outcomes more efficiently.

What you’ll do 

The Software Engineer will work closely with the Director of IDS Technology, Head of Business Analytics as well as other internal and external stakeholders on the creation of a data and analytics governance program and associated technology platform. You will help launch a third-party vendor metadata management system (data catalog), participating in vendor selection, evaluating the third-party system, and working to close any feature gaps, as well as establish an ongoing maintenance and enhancement program. You will work closely with the Senior Data Analyst to design a process to promote consistency within the catalog and related business glossaries which includes onboarding and integration protocols. The Software Engineer will also participate in expanding platform capabilities based on business requirements as well as providing Level 3 support. The ideal candidate has a mindset of creatively applying the best modern technologies to help solve business problems and has a strong affinity for data.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

• 3+ years of expertise with OO development (Python, C#, C++, Java)
• 3+ years of experience with service-oriented architecture
• 3+ years of experience with production development and support
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong ownership mindset and a track record of delivering results

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is a multi-manager platform that invests its capital with Internal and Partner portfolio managers, primarily on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis, across four trading strategies; quantitative, fundamental equity, tactical trading and discretionary macro & fixed income. In 2021 we launched our newest strategy, discretionary macro & fixed income as part of the continual growth of Schonfeld’s investible universe. Our portfolio exposure has expanded across the Americas, Europe and Asia as well as multiple asset classes and products.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $135,000 and $200,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
