Software Engineer - Java / Front End

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and optimize the performance of large-scale distributed systems with security and compliance in mind.
• Build SaaS based commercial products to process and analyze terabytes of data
• Develop batch processing pipelines that enable the scaling of ETL processes for Illumina Next Generation Sequencing data
• Investigate, prototype, and deliver new and innovative system solutions

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable applications
• Excellent Java based application development and debugging skills. Experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, Rest APIs and Microservices.
• Proficient in building highly scalable real time services based on REST as well as in Event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks (Pub/Sub, Kafka, and/or RabbitMQ)
• Experience in large scale data platform and data processing system such as Hadoop and Spark
• Experience with distributed storage and database systems (such as RDBMS, NoSQL databases, ElasticSearch)
• Experience with numerous aspects of DevOps, including source control, CI/CD, Kubernetes and containerized deployment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, for both technical and non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated leadership and self-direction as well as a willingness to teach others and learn new technologies.

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $79,300 - $118,900. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
