Software Engineer (Java) III/IV

What this job IS:

As a member of the SYNKROS interface team, this position will primarily be focused on designing and implementing new features and test plans, as well as maintaining existing features, for the 3rd-party SYNKROS interfaces. This includes building integration features on top of a variety of protocols, including TCP, HTTP, REST, and SOAP based services. This role will be modernizing and improving the performance of existing applications. The position is primarily a coding, but could include infrequent debugging assistance in resolving production issues.

What this job is NOT:

Our Java Embedded Software Engineer is not a Web Developer or Spring role, NOT a JSP/JSF/JavaScript role.

This role is going to serve as an Embedded Java Core role, performing, coding functions, using:

Required Skills:

• Core Java
• Socket programming
• Thread programming
• TCP/IP stack knowledge
• JDBC, Oracle, ORM or other Database technology
• JSON, REST, JAXRS
• Junit/Testing/TDD
• Experience debugging performance issues using diagnostic tools

Preferred / Nice to have skills:

• API design
• Containerization/Docker experience
• JMeter experience
• Jersey and Jackson experience

Helpful Skills:

• Linux basics
• Ability to read code and learn different code bases quickly
• SOAP
• PL SQL

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent years of education and experience
• 5-8+ years' experience in an Embedded Core JAVA Software Engineer function
