This role is with the Cognizant Integration and Process Management Practice within Enterprise Platform Services Team (IPM-EPS). Cognizant's IPM practice is a world leading provider of Hybrid Cloud Integration and Process Automation Services. IPM has strategic alliances with "best of bread" platform providers to provide service for Cloud Integration, Hybrid Integration Platforms, B2B Platforms, DPA and Low Code Platforms, and Cloud Integration.

Job Description: As a Software Engineer - Java/Spring Boot, you will work as part of a cross-functional team responsible for the end-to-end, full stack development of the application. While each team member has a primary skill set, they are also expected to learn and contribute to areas outside of their primary skill set. The team is highly collaborative and values continuous improvement and open communication. You will be expected to be a well-regarded and respected individual contributor; possess strong inter-personal skills, as well as proven track record of application development with skills in Java, distributed cache technology and building scalable robust systems. In return you will have opportunity to gain exposure to designing, developing, and deploying applications to the internal/external cloud.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

Required: • Experience in designing and developing infrastructure using Java, Spring Framework modules, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, Kafka, Docker, cloud-based Java applications, JSP, Hibernate, Web services (Soap and Rest), Maven, Unit Testing (JUnit), MySQL, Oracle, Jenkins, and code quality tool Sonar. • Work with Data engineers and architects to develop middleware frameworks using Spring, Spring Boot, and WebFlux. • Develop REST API services using messaging integration via Kafka development. • Experience building applications and connectors in Kafka. • Experience developing and deploying data infrastructure and integrations in the cloud including data warehouse like Snowflake, Redshift etc. • Database design and implementation using Postgres DB, DB2, MySQL, or Oracle. • Familiarity with Microservices API design best practices including SSO, testing, documentation, and monitoring. • Integration experience with AWS - AppFlow engine and airflow for batch processing. • Develop ETL integrations with Snowflake - data extraction, transforming and loading. • Kafka streaming implementations and functions necessary for storing legacy data sets and streaming analytics solutions. • Improve data quality, data validation layers to help the BI solutions highlight rich data. • Work with Kubernetes to improve performance and efficiency. • Hands on experience with docker and container technologies. • Follow best practices regarding CI/CD and GitOps fundamentals. • Experience in building consumers using Confluent, and Vector. • Experience in deploying applications to Kubernetes. • Development experience using APIGEE API products.

Preferred: • Experience in Oracle WebLogic, JDBC, ANSI SQL, and Core Java.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position depends on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
