Software Engineer (Junior)

MetroStar Systems is looking for a Software Engineer (Junior) to join our team in our Reston, VA location.

Candidates will perform computer programming activities to include coding tasks.  Work involves assisting in analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and fixing issues; preparing, automating, and deploying cloud solutions; and testing, monitoring, and evolving cloud solutions.

You’re a great fit if…

• You use C++, C#, Python, JavaScript to complete programming work and coding tasks.
• You enjoy working in a team environment focused on execution.
• You have familiarity with cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

You’ll love our position if… (This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and at least one previous internship.
• Excellent understanding of computer algorithms, data structures and communication skills.
• Experience with API development, web application development and data analytics development (via school projects and/or internship experience)
• Experience working with SaaS and PaaS by cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Have an active Secret clearance or the ability obtain

 What your day will look like:

• You’ll work in an agile environment as part of a full design and development team, participating in scrum ceremonies, interacting with, and supporting our customers.
• You’ll support the team in deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting solutions.

• You’ll prepare technical specifications for solutions to be written, design, code, test, debug, and document solutions.
• You’ll code, test, and debug solutions as outlined by technical and functional requirements.
• You’ll assist in the development of business requirements and perform solution analysis, design, and programming.
• You’ll participate in code reviews to evolve code practices and solution code bases.
• You’ll research cloud technologies to create proof of concepts, prototypes, and MVPs.
