About the job

This position is needed to  build and deploy the next generation of our distributed systems and microservices architecture. The new features intend to simplify the life of our customers as they provide their KYC information to onboard onto Twilio Messaging. With different guidelines in different countries to adhere to, Twilio intends to stay ahead and provide the mechanisms for ISVs to collect and update their customer data and for direct customers to upload and maintain compliant data. Thus improving the customer onboarding experience in multiple countries and making onboarding and sending communications quicker and easier. Twilio is also known to be ahead in moving to newer technology stack, self managed cloud. The job will provide opportunities to work on upgrading the current services and moving them to self managed for better resiliency and maintainability, reducing operation effort.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for our distributed systems and microservices, utilizing asynchronous communication patterns for optimal performance. Contribute to the design and implementation of highly scalable architectures, prioritizing reliability, performance, and future-proof growth.
  • Modernizing Software: Contribute to the migration and optimization of our tech stack to leverage the modern technologies, ensuring future-proof scalability and agility while maintaining backward compatibility. 
  • Build APIs, storage systems, cache layers and workflows to support complex business logic.
  • Collaborate with a talented global team including engineers, product managers, designers, and architects both inside and outside of the immediate team.
  • Consistently share your ideas and request feedback. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team. 
  • Participate in agile development with rapid, iterative, frequently deployed applications.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Successful track record of delivering and maintaining reliable, scalable, traceable and performant distributed systems to customers in a production cloud environment like AWS
  • 2+ years of experience with server side technologies, including asynchronous programming using Java
  • Extensive experience with building and using REST APIs
  • Experience with relational Databases like MySQL
  • Exposure with technologies like EC2, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka, ElastiCache

Desired:

  • Experience with container technologies - Docker/Kubernetes
  • Exposure to front end technologies like React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js
  • Exposure to scripting languages like Python / Bash
  • Experience in implementing modern automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working in Agile Methodology with exposure to tracking tools like Jira, Rally 

Location

This role will be based Remotely in our Bengaluru, India office. 

Travel
