As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of software projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the growth and development of your team members.

Your day to day

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Technical Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute the technical roadmap, making informed decisions about technology stack, architecture, and development methodologies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and user needs.
  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate engineering resources, manage workloads, and make staffing decisions to meet project demands.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and code reviews to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, helping them solve complex problems and grow their skills.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks and challenges, making informed decisions to keep projects on track.

What do you need to bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in software development and engineering leadership roles.
  • Strong technical background and proficiency in software development technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities, with a focus on team development and growth.
  • Problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry trends and best practices.
