Typical day in the life of a Software Engineer:

- Life Cycle Sustainment activities for commercial and custom-developed education, learning, and trading applications

- Maintaining and enhancing complex operational software systems

- Activities include debugging existing software and correcting defects, integrating existing software into our new or modified systems and operating environments, investing and analyzing user problems and identifying solutions.

- Provide support for troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems, developing, and executing test procedures.

- Patching and software maintenance of Linux servers and Windows servers as well as COTs products.

What are we looking for?

-In this position, you will join an existing team providing development support to Security Sustainment applications. The applications supported are front-end technologies, i.e., JavaScript (AngularJS, Vue.js, Node.js).

-The role requires a self-motivated individual that is comfortable working in a team environment.

-This position will require working in a fast-paced team and a willingness to take on challenges to upgrade or modify sustainment systems.

-The position is required to utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment and consistent with CMS' DevOps objectives.

Desired Skills

-Experience working with the AWS Platform

-Experience working in an Agile Development Team

-Experience working with Git for source code management

Qualifications:

-Three (3) years of experience in software development/engineering

-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline

-Four (4) years of additional software development experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

-Experience working with front-end technologies

-Experience with Node.js, AngularJS, Angular, VueJS or comparable JavaScript frameworks/libraries

-Willingness to learn new technologies

-Experience developing and updating technical documentation "
