JOB SUMMARY:
Satcom Direct is looking for a mid to senior-level Software Engineering Project Coordinator familiar with Microsoft technologies and coding languages for both on-prem and Microsoft Azure Cloud hosting to assist our scrum teams with developing customer facing web applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of requirements as set by the Product Owners and the Business Stakeholders that drive our product and service needs. The primary goals of this role are to monitor project timelines and split up tasks to help team members manage their workload and ensure commitments and expectations are in line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. - Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests as per the Definition of Ready.
- Provides guidance to concentrate the Scrum Team(s) effort on correct priorities.
- Organize and facilitate standard Scrum ceremonies, i.e., coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups
- Mentor and coach the teams on Agile methodology and Scrum values and process
- Excellent communication and servant leadership skills
- Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration
- Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur
- Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection planning; identify and remove impediments; prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the sprint goal; Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
- Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint as per the Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria.
- Monitor the effectiveness of scrum team processes and performance, and collaborate with the team on changes and improvements
- Be a positive, approachable, helpful, thoughtful team player with a can-do attitude
- Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it
- Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of ready/done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
- Support the entire life cycle of app creation, internal testing and app store delivery.
- Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity and help teams implement changes effectively
- Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from Product Owners, External Customers, Stakeholders)
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug test
- Other duties as assigned
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with software development
- Create and maintain software documentation and JIRA tickets
- Excellent organization, communication and time management skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Jira, Teams, Confluence, Slack, Office, OneNote, MS Project
- A plus but not required:
- Azure DevOps (VSTS), TFS or Git repositories
- Experience with CI/CD delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps (VSTS) or TFS
- Experience with risk mitigation
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Business or similar field
- Agile Team experience, Certification(s) in Agile methodologies (PMI-ACP, CSM, CSP, SA, SASM or equivalent) is a plus
- 5+ years of Agile and Waterfall Project Management
- At least 3 years of Business Analyst or Product Owner experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (< 25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop in order to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to others talking or laughing loudly, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Some overnight travel is required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center.
