Software Engineer, Protocols

The Uniswap Protocol is the largest decentralized trading and automated market making protocol (often called a DEX, “Decentralized Exchange”) on Ethereum.

The Uniswap Labs team was a major contributor to the Uniswap Protocol and now focuses on building a suite of products to support the Uniswap Labs ecosystem. Our team is one of the most impactful in crypto. We are headquartered in SoHo in New York City with the option to be partially or fully remote depending on the position.

We are looking for a junior engineer to help us build the next generation of the Uniswap Protocol. You will be responsible for designing and implementing systems and protocols that build upon the Ethereum blockchain.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain low level backend services that interact with the Uniswap Protocol
• Research and contribute to Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs)
• Participate in discussions from the initial product ideas to launch

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience working on blockchains, consensus algorithms, p2p, or applied cryptography
• Deep knowledge of Ethereum and the EVM
• Broad understanding of the Ethereum roadmap
• Understanding of different blockchain designs, their tradeoffs, and the cryptography underpinning blockchains
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and computer science fundamentals
• Fluency in Typescript, Go, Rust, or a similar language

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, networking or orchestration with AWS (e.g. Docker, ECS, CDK, DynamoDB)
• Experience writing smart contracts
• Love for unicorns :)
