Software Engineer (Python)

A bit about the team…

The Mid Frequency Trading Team is a fully automated trading team, trading multiple products across global markets. The team's framework facilitates live trading and historical backtesting and includes the data processing pipelines and research tools necessary for new alpha research. The codebase is predominantly in Python leveraging a number of industry standard libraries for data handling.

They should also have solid technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly. It is also essential that the successful candidate is willing to spend time sharing knowledge with other team members, as well as learning from them, in order to contribute to the team’s collaborative and open culture. 

What your main responsibilities will be...

• Designing, building and maintaining trading system components
• Monitoring, support and maintenance of the existing systems and infrastructure
• Applying modern devops paradigms to enhance operational capabilities
• Improving the system’s redundancy
• Documenting internal operational procedures
• Contributing to the continuous refinement of the desk’s systems
• Providing support to our production trading system including joining the ‘on call’ overnight support rota 1 night per week for any critical trading incidents

To be successful in this role, these are the essential experiences you need…

• B.Sc. Computer Science or other engineering disciplines
• 2+ years in Python software development
• Solid experience working in a trading environment (trading firm or banking)
• Experience with real time Linux systems
• Good design skills
• Good understanding of data structures
