As a Python/DevOps Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology & Global Technology Infrastructure team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a DevOps Software Engineer, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

High Risk Roles (HRR) are sensitive roles within the technology organization that require high assurance of the integrity of staff by virtue of 1) sensitive cybersecurity and technology functions they perform within systems or 2) information they receive regarding sensitive cybersecurity or technology matters. Users in these roles are subject to enhanced pre-hire screening which includes both criminal and credit background checks (as allowed by law). The enhanced screening will need to be successfully completed prior to commencing employment or assignment.

As a DevOps Software Engineer, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes the SDLC pipelines independently that run synchronously with appropriate systems for test driven development and quality assurance.
- Creates secure and high-quality production code using Python and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Proficient with DevOps tools, design, development, software development tools and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies and adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Proficient in coding using Python and Django.
- Hands-on practical experience in DevOps practices and tools, including Software Development Life Cycle, CI/CD pipelines, code deployments and quality assurance tools used for application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in automating manual validation e.g Selenium or cucumber, developing, debugging, writing test cases and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using software development tools such as Sonar, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, IntelliJ / VS Code and Jules / Jenkins build, Selenium, Splunk etc.
- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with querying SQL databases such as MySQL.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as React JS.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and cloud deployments.
