Software Engineer - Reliability Engineering

The Role 

We are seeking a talented Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the reliability, availability, and performance of our production systems. You will work closely with other engineers to design, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver with a passion for reliability, automation, and scalability.                                                                                                                                                                                                       

What you’ll do 

• Develop and maintain software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our applications.
• Partner with product development teams to find scalability bottlenecks and areas for performance improvements and define SLIs for their critical workflows.
• Develop tools to improve monitoring, telemetry, visualization, alerting and reporting.
• Collaborate with software engineers to design and deploy scalable and reliable applications.
• Be a champion of open-source observability standards within the firm.

What you’ll bring

• Expertise in programming (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with site reliability engineering principles and practices.

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is a multi-manager platform that invests its capital with Internal and Partner portfolio managers, primarily on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis, across four trading strategies; quantitative, fundamental equity, tactical trading and discretionary macro & fixed income. We have created a unique structure to provide global portfolio managers with autonomy, flexibility and support to best enable them to maximize the value of their businesses.

We have developed and invested heavily in proprietary technology, infrastructure and risk analytics and continue to capitalize on new opportunities. Our portfolio exposure has expanded across the Americas, Europe and Asia as well as multiple asset classes and products.

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $180,000 - $200,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
