About the Role

Software Engineer (Test Automation) is a developer with the primary responsibility development of software product as well as writing framework and tools to test that product. Means it is an IT professional who can work effectively in development and testing roles. An engineer in this role is expected to take part in the complete Software Development Process mainly we term it as SDLC. SDETs are able to understand software development as well as software testing.

Responsibilities:

• Write functional and performance tests using programming languages like Golang, Java or Python that leverage in-house systems/frameworks and commercial tools for a complex, multi-tiered cloud-based system.
• Define standards for tools, technology and processes for the test process of microservices.
• Test Restful API and gRPC API
• Generate test data in Redis, S3 and DynamoDB
• Build and set up automation tools for automation for new projects.
• Develop, modify and execute software test plans.
• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of complex issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
• Innovate and invest in tools and solutions that’ll help increase the efficiency of product releases.
• Find opportunities for continuous improvements to our software system and product quality.
• Integrate tests in GitHub workflows

Must Haves

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of hands-on automation testing experience testing backend applications RESTful API/Services/Microservice.
• Ability to write excellent test plans and test scripts.
• Must have  programming skills using Java, GoLang,Python or similar to write test scripts
• Must have experience with with scripting languages like bash, python or similar 
• Broad width and in-depth knowledge of QA tools, processes, and tech stack.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to take ownership, and the ability to identify and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience evaluating and onboarding/creating automated test frameworks.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with databases and capability to generate complex database queries.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
