What you’ll do
As a Software Engineer supporting Risk Technology, you will:
• Deliver an ongoing feature-set within a complete web application
• Focus on delivering the best possible user experience
• Write tested, idiomatic, and documented React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
• Coordinate with the developers and business stakeholders to build an effective and achievable result
• Cooperate with the back-end developers in the process of building the API within a service mesh architecture
• Develop a thorough understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system
• Architect and automate the build process for production, using task runners (e.g. webpack, browserify, gulp)
• Write extensive unit tests using automated TDD tasks
• Creating e2e test suites for all components, and running them with Protractor (or a well-reasoned alternative)
• Communicate with external web services

What’s required
• Proficiency in React and CSS (Flexbox/CSS Grid a plus) and HTML5
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript / ES6 practices and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience
• Professional, precise communication skills
• Ability to define frontend development guidelines and best practices
• Thorough understanding of asynchronous mechanisms used in the modern web development (Promises, Observables, etc)
• Extensive knowledge of CSS and JS methods for providing performant visual effects
• Knowledge of 3rd party grid and charting tools (e.g., ag-grid, Highcharts) a plus
