This is a temporary role through Magnit for a leading healthcare insurance company in the US.

Position Notes

Open to 100% remote candidates though ideally seeking candidates local to ANY The Cigna Group office to be able to come onsite on a flex basis. Core hours are 9am-5pm EST, some flex to CST, MST, or PST, for the perfect fit.

Candidates selected to interview would need to come prepared to the interview with a portfolio of their UI/UX design work

Description:

The Accredo Pharma Hub team is seeking a talented and hands-on senior frontend developer who works well in a distributed team environment. The ideal candidate is well versed in the challenges and complexities involved in building scalable and robust web applications, competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of development, and will contribute to the continued growth of our web portal's frontend architecture.

On a day-to-day basis, the ideal candidate will be:

  • Directly responsible for interfacing with product owners and realizing their vision and goals from the buildout of all mockups, to development, to test, to release in our production environment
  • Responsible for partnering, guiding, and supporting a team of offshore developers and testers through new feature requests
  • Comfortable and effective partnering with backend teams to propose and converge upon RESTful interfaces that support the needs of the new features
  • Ensure the continued 24x7x365 operations of our portal

Strategically, the ideal candidate will be:

  • Responsible for the shaping the technical direction of our web portal's frontend architecture
  • Partnering with business and technical product owners to propose the best path forward on new features and capabilities (ordering of features/capabilities, MVPs, release schedules, etc.)

Required Skills

  • Solid UI/UX design skills. About a third of your time will be dedicated towards partnering with our business partners to understanding their vision for new features. You will need to be able to express that vision in the form of mockups (in Sketch or Figma) that will ultimately used as a starting point for elaboration, refinement, grooming, etc. with the rest of the development team.
  • Solid understand of web application architectures. Strong understanding of software architecture, web development, REST.
  • Solid frontend development skills. A majority of your time will be dedicated towards implementation. Our frontend team's formulary includes javascript, react, redux, etc.
  • Cloud computing. Our team is transitioning to Amazon Web Services (AWS) from Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). Our team relies heavily upon Jenkins for CI/CD. Experience with any cloud provider is acceptable. (If you know AWS you can help us out; if you don't, you can learn with us!)
  • Ownership and accountability for all aspects of software development, including (and not limited to): elaboration of ideas, architecture, design, implementation, peer reviews, quality assurance, deployment, issue resolution
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including but not limited to: problem solving, decision making, influencing, change management, written and oral communications, ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams within a corporate ecosystem to successfully integrate new features

Desired Skills

  • Working knowledge of agile development / scrum concepts
  • Healthcare domain experience
  • Ability to provide and receive thoughtful feedback to/from all stakeholders to ensure the team continues to grow
  • Ability to be successful in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies when appropriate, make independent decisions, etc.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers
  • Bachelor's degree in related field PREFERRED with 7 years of experience or Master's degree PREFERRED in related field with 5 year of experience or 11 years relevant experience without Bachelor's Degree.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

  • The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $57.62 -$76.83 /hour W-2.
