Our Software Engineering team is dedicated to building the world's most predictive, inclusive, and fair interviewing products for our clients and technical candidates alike.
What you will do
As a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2023 at Karat, you will work in partnership with cross-functional teammates in order to build and ship meaningful products in the interviewing cloud space. Working on features that create bridges between users, you will experience meaningful technical growth and deep impact for candidate-users of the Karat product for years to come.

This is a full-time, salary position. Immigration sponsorship is available.
Karat's HQ is based in Seattle, Washington, but we are open to remote candidates for this role (within the U.S.).

What you will do
As a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2023 at Karat, you will work in partnership with cross-functional teammates in order to build and ship meaningful products in the interviewing cloud space. Working on features that create bridges between users, you will experience meaningful technical growth and deep impact for candidate-users of the Karat product for years to come.
- Build and ship features and products alongside our multi-faceted team of Data Engineers, Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers.
- Receive direct guidance and mentorship from experienced Software Engineers and your Software Engineering Manager.
- Actively participate in a variety of productive team meetings, such as: planning, stand ups, retros, etc.
- Work with a variety of technologies across a wide spectrum of computer software (e.g. distributed systems, machine learning/AI, UI/UX, etc.).
The experience you will bring
- Current college student, recent bootcamp graduate, or self-taught professional (with some applicable experience) looking to build a long-term career in Software Engineering
- Highly proficient in one or more modern object-oriented programming languages (our team is most familiar with Ruby, Python, or similar language)
- Have a grasp on data structures and algorithmic techniques
- Collaborative, flexible, and motivated to experiment, iterate, and implement
- Comfortable in a quick change, high-growth, and ambiguous environment (can be autonomous and self-driven)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
