About The Position:

We are actively searching for an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineering Leader who possesses a robust proficiency in crafting production-grade code, particularly in Java and/or languages such as Go or C++, to develop high-performance platforms that are used by developers to build production applications. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive expertise to contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of cutting-edge software solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in elevating our technological capabilities and ensuring the seamless execution of sophisticated software projects. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering org responsible for Conductor.

Your day-to-day at Orkes: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and implement critical components of our services, ensuring seamless integration within the overall architecture. Actively engage in the exploration, investigation, and prototyping of cutting-edge concepts and technologies, staying at the forefront of industry trends to inform decision-making and maintain a competitive edge. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes by providing insights, best practices, and recommendations based on your wealth of experience. Lead and manage the team of engineers, both remote and onsite working on Conductor. Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to maintain code quality, scalability, and adherence to coding standards. 

Qualities that will help you succeed: 

Experience building distributed systems at scale. You understand what it means to build distributed systems and challenges of building one. You have in your past, managed a team of engineers and helped them grow in their careers. Experience with JAVA, Go or similar programming languages. Experience with Redis, Cassandra and/or relational databases.Be comfortable with ambiguity and scale. The requirements listed in the job descriptions are guidelines. More DetailsThe base salary for this role is between $220,000-$280,000 USD. There is also a bonus component to the role which is based on company and individual performance. In addition, we offer stock options as part of the total compensation package. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered: skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
