What we’re hiring for:  

We are a growing fintech organization looking to add a Software Engineering Manager for our Technology Team! This role will be based in Austin, Texas or Remote, within the United States.  

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:  

  • Analyzing, Reviewing, and Testing code for accuracy, functionality and security from team members including Sr. Engineers, Jr. Engineers, and SDET’s  
  • Establish Software Development Life Cycle plans for all team functions including assignment of sprints, lifecycle status updates and driving efficiency of plans  
  • Acting as the technical lead for your team helping to problem solve, validate, and mentor team members to enhance technical competence across all skill levels  
  • Communicating technical information, both written and verbal, effectively to other team members, teams and customers of varying technical experience across the organization 
  • Ensuring documentation of solutions with developer code, flow charts, UML diagrams, comments and clear code are accurately input in Jira 
  • Manage the performance and professional development of the engineering team members by providing regular feedback and coaching as needed.  
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of engineering initiatives. 

What experiences and skills are necessary to be successful in this role:  

  • 10-14 years’ experience in a highly technical environment with at least 8 of those years in a Java Enterprise Software Development environment  
  • Experience working with a variety of stacks and platforms such as Lambdas, Generics, Spring, MySQL, or RESTful Web Services  
  • 3+ years' experience leading diverse teams to include geographically, skillset, and communication styles differences 
  • Experience communicating project updates, requirements, and needs to at least the Director level and above
