Software Engineering Manager

We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager with a strong sense for building digital products. This role will give you the opportunity to work closely with clients to plan and develop new applications and features. You'll work across a number of products and industries in a collaborative, agile environment.

Requirements

What you'll do

• Support the professional growth of 6-8 developers by holding recurring 1-on-1s, shaping quarterly goals, providing candid feedback, performing annual reviews, and promoting a sustainable work culture.
• Provide recommendations for project staffing, valuing what's best for the health of the project and the growth goals of each developer.
• Share your knowledge with your teammates through pull-request reviews, pairing, and internal presentations and workshops.
• Contribute thought leadership in best practices and processes in collaboration with managers to provide the best experience for our employees.
• Help grow the team by leading technical interviews and reshaping and refining our hiring and onboarding processes.
• Activate in a client-facing role on at-risk projects to support the team's ability to deliver projects on-time and within budget.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software development or consulting experience with 2+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and technologies and frameworks like Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and React.
• Previous experience leading other teammates toward career success and growth.
• A transparent and adaptive approach to managing to best fit the needs of each individual who aligns to you as their manager.
• Enthusiasm for participating in and improving our hiring, onboarding, and management processes.
• A passion for not only keeping your technical knowledge up-to-date, but also coaching and mentoring to level up those around you.
• A commitment to LaunchPad Lab's Seven Constants.
