The Software Engineering Manager is a key leadership position responsible for leading a team to execute product programs with cross-functional team leaders and individuals to meet customer requirements for product functionality, quality, and cost for Bracco Medical Technologies' (BMT) global portfolio of medical devices. As a member of BMT's global R&D software engineering organization, ensure product programs are completed on time, team members are developed in their functional discipline, and that processes in the business are continually improved. This role requires working cross-functionally with technical and other professional talent from various facilities and from diverse technical backgrounds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Align the strategy and direction of the software team to the business goals and drive continuous improvement of systems, products, and processes
  • Functional leadership of the team, including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  • Identify the competencies required to meet the Engineering and Business objectives and develop a strategy to recruit and develop a high-performing engineering team with deep functional expertise.
  • Collaborate with the Program Management team to set priorities and effectively resource programs and projects.
  • Collaborate with the Principal architect to develop a code base within the architectural framework that meets the technical, functional, performance, and operational requirements for the product.
  • Collaborate with the SW Director to implement tools and processes to optimize software engineering throughput and quality.
  • Ensure key milestones are met and that solutions delivered are of the highest quality possible.
  • Celebrate wins and create a working environment that energizes the team and allows them to have fun while taking on the difficult challenges for our customers.
  • Lead change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues.
  • Optimize the team's participation in all phases of product development
  • Support existing products within Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Develop an environment in which others can freely share ideas.
  • Key role in driving the culture of engineering excellence and commitment to quality.


Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Minimum
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for a U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by ACIST Medical Systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years relevant software development experience.
  • 2+ years project management experience.
  • 2+ years of direct or indirect people leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionality with global teams.
  • Experience with the Agile Development Process.
  • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the demonstrated ability to gain buy-in for initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing, and quality of outcomes.

Preferred
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 7 years relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience in developing Medical Device Software for 5+ years, or a related field that is regulated.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop Intellectual property.
  • Experience with the development tools: MS Visual Studio, JIRA, GIT, JAMA
  • Fluency with clinical radiology terminology.
  • Knowledge of QSR, ISO/EN and Quality System Standards.

  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
