Software Engineering Manager

Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in automation solutions for industrial applications, logistics and warehouses.

We are seeking a Production Support Software Manager to lead a small team of engineers developing software to support hardware testing and automated robot health checking initiatives for the Stretch warehouse robot. The Stretch robot is designed to operate autonomously in warehouses and distribution centers. You will be responsible for improving existing capabilities and developing new capabilities related to automated factory acceptance tests, design validation tests, automated health checking routines, and hardware faults that support lab, factory, and field robot operations. You will be a part of a dynamic team of software engineers that works closely with the Test Engineering, Manufacturing, Robot Controls, Field Service, and Hardware teams.

Day to day activities:

• Guiding technical aspects of development, including requirements setting, architectural decisions, design and code reviews, testing and integration
• Managing task prioritization, tracking and communicating progress for your team
• Acting as coach and mentor, managing performance and career development for your team
• Participating in development and testing as a hands-on contributor

Requirements:

• BS, MS, or PhD in engineering, computer science, robotics, or related field
• 4+ years of hands-on software development in a production environment
• 2+ years as an engineering manager, technical lead, or mentor providing day-to-day guidance and technical management to a team of engineers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in C++11, or more recent
• Knowledge of robot hardware components
