Software Engineering Manager - EcoSystem Platform

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to help us build our Ecosystem Platform Team. In this role, you'll focus on three things initially. First, you will drive the full time software engineer hiring plan for this team and collaborate with our contractors to satisfy the short term headcount needs. Second, you will take complete ownership of our in-house built service IVR(Interactive Voice Response), Customer information service(CIS), and CRM (Zendesk integration). Third, you will need to collaborate with other development teams for setting joint technical vision, data teams for data pipelines and infrastructure teams for various environments. What you'll do at Avant

• Setting Team vision and coming up with long term team roadmap

• Focusing on team outcome and staying on top of the business priorities (IVR, CIS, CRM) and working with TPMs to project manage them including devicing risk mitigation plan

• Actively participating in hiring and the growth of our team, as well as working with contractor firms to onboard contractors and filling the short term talent gap

• Cultivate and maintain trust, comfort, camaraderie, and compassion amongst a diverse team of talented engineers

• Coaching, counseling, grooming your team members. 

• Continuously improve upon your team's process and best practices ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of high-quality software, maintaining the balance between maximizing business impact and minimizing technical debt

• Developing strong partnerships with product management, design and other key areas of the business as well as other engineering leaders

• Actively Participating in and manage all phases of development from ideation to post-deployment issue resolution

• Participating in technical design discussions and driving alignment within the team and outside of the team.

• Embracing operational excellence for all web services you own with strong caring in software quality

We are looking for:

• 1+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager with a team of direct reports

• 7+ year(s) of hands-on software engineering experience and a solid understanding of backend systems, infrastructure, databases and large-scale data processing frameworks

• B.S. degree in a computer science/engineering or related field

• Familiarity with python or other programming languages such as Java. NodeJs etc.

• A track record of meeting objectives using metrics and providing business value

• Confidence working through ambiguity and building process around it

• Ability to evaluate different design approach with proper resource allocation and leverage the right tools to effectively solve problems

• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams

• Managed in remote, multi-time-zone environments

• Experience being exposed to FinTech is strongly preferred
