Software Engineering Manager - Enterprise

The Enterprise unit within Opendoor offers our technology and processes to institutional partners within residential real estate. Enterprise is building a one-stop shop for institutions buying, selling, and managing residential real estate, offering a wide range of services such as direct sales, bulk transactions, brokerage, title and escrow, and more. Fulfilling the mission will include leading initiatives to create new sources of supply for our partners, software to enable our partner’s fulfillment, and developing tools that scale our internal sales and support teams in order to meet partner demand. 

As an engineering manager, you will lead a team of fullstack engineers building our property ingestion and syndication tools.  Our product engineering teams operate with maximum agency and autonomy, leveraging tight feedback loops with internal operators and external customers as they build and iterate.  Engineering managers are first and foremost people leaders, focused on the organizational health of their engineering team and ensuring teams are executing effectively against business goals.

• Partnering with product managers, designers and operators to identify, build and ship projects of greatest impact to the business
• Full accountability for the organizational health of your engineering team, including recruiting, hiring, coaching and delivering performance feedback
• Collaborating with other engineering leaders to evolve the broader Enterprise engineering organization
• Promoting an engaged, product-focused, positive engineering culture

• Have 7+ years of relevant engineering work experience, with 2+ as an engineering manager
• Enjoy the challenge of a start-up like environment, as they help their team navigate and adapt to rapidly changing business needs
• Prefer highly collaborative environments, working closely with peers in product, design and operations.
• Hold their teams accountable for setting pragmatic roadmaps and delivering projects in a timely manner
• Understand the value of coaching, mentoring, and find fulfillment in helping members of their team develop professionally

Remote - Remote roles in the US are available in all states EXCEPT Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, or any US Territories.

Remote role in the US: The base salary range for this position in Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, and New Jersey is $168,000 - $258,500 and in California and New York City is $188,000 - $282,000. Base salary may vary depending on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
