Software Engineering Manager - Robotics

As an Engineering Manager for EngProd in Autonomy at 6RS, you will help your colleagues within the Autonomy org work faster and more efficiently as they revolutionize fulfillment and help our customers with moving merchandise as quickly as possible. This is an opportunity to accelerate the growth of the Autonomy team.

In this new position you will: 

• Lead a squad of 2 - 4 awesome engineers who will work on making Software Development on robots better by building tooling for deploying new SW to the robotic fleet and gathering data from that fleet. Better tooling => shortened development cycle => more features => happier developers and happier customers.
• Partner with squad leads, engineering directors, the head of software, and people across 6RS to execute our technical architecture, technical vision, and roadmap
• Refine designs, review code, share knowledge to keep the team aligned and effective
• Grow the team through hiring and develop team members into future leaders of the organization

What you'll need day one: 

• Scrappy, yet thoughtful approach to problem solving 
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment 
• Experience managing/leading teams 
• Experience with CI systems, build systems and Docker
• Experience programming in Typescript/Python/Go or similar language

It would be a bonus if you have: 

• Practical experience with robotics projects and the Robot Operating System (ROS) 
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools and best practices
• Some experience programming in C++
