Software Engineering People Manager

An Software Engineering People Manager is a crucial linchpin in nurturing the growth, performance, and development of our engineering team members. They ensure our engineers are motivated team players that they provide high-quality outputs in line with our strategic vision and customer goals.
Roles & Responsibilitie
The Software Engineering People Manager is accountable for guiding a diverse team of engineers and ensuring their professional growth and development. They focus on engineering execution, performance evaluations, continuous learning and development, talent acquisition, overall team morale. They also work closely with the People team to ensure the organization's values and culture are embodied in the team.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinating assignments and rotations to ensure a broad exposure and enhancement of skills in Mulesoft and Salesforce.
- Intervening quickly in projects trending yellow or red, getting projects back on track.
- Overseeing the development process, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and best practices.
- Ensuring retrospectives and corrective actions are successfully completed.
- Tracking and analyzing engineer & people KPIs to measure team performance and identify areas of improvement.
- Conducting regular performance reviews and setting personal development plans to ensure the individual growth of team members.
- Organizing and supervising skills development sessions, training, and certifications, with a focus on Mulesoft and Salesforce.
- Lead hiring process with People team to ensure the team is staffed and skilled.
- Developing onboarding plans and processes for new team members, with an emphasis on Mulesoft and Salesforce consulting skills.
- Collaborating with the People team on company morale, community, and celebrations.
- Disseminating company communications and ensuring transparency and understanding within the team.
- Addressing people-related issues and escalating them to the necessary parties when required.
- Supporting the People team in improving People-related strategies and practices, providing team feedback and suggestions.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager with a strong focus on people development.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficient in performance evaluation and team building.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Significant experience in hiring and onboarding.
- Familiarity with Mulesoft and Salesforce consulting is preferred.
- Ability to understand and implement company policies and procedures.
- Located in the Raleigh NC area or Greater Tampa Bay area.
