Position Summary:
This role will be responsible for leading the technical design, development, delivery and maintenance of the various components of Reporting & Analytics platform. You will be part of a green field development of a financial application that processes high volume and high value transactions between our supply side trading partners all the way to fulling our financial obligations with our clients and partners. In this role, you will actively partner with business stakeholders, subject matter experts from various financial domains, program management, IT management and your development team on initiatives that support Evernorth's strategic goals. Being the Tech Lead, you will own the delivery of technical projects that are related to the underlying platform or reporting projects built on top of the platforms or a mix of the two.
This is a hybrid role and will require the ability to work in-person
Core responsibilities:
- Understand architecture, design and code of the existing Reporting Platform. Own the operations on this platform and from time to time recommend changes to platform to optimize for efficiency. Key components in current technology stack for this platform includes Tableau Server, Cognos, Redshift, AWS services like EC2, Lambda, Glue, S3, Dynamo dB, CloudWatch, Route 59, Secrets, Load balancers.
- Understand requirements of upcoming reporting projects and execute delivery of specific projects or sub components. Ability and attitude to try and adopt new technology or new approaches in the solution.
- Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of reporting development and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments.
- Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution.
- Driving creativeness and innovation in Reporting Platform area. Finding and proposing new and efficient approaches.
- Document, tests, implements and provides on-going support for the platform and application. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex issues.
- Technically leading development team. Guiding team members on day to day work using agile methodology. Working closely with engineering talent in team to find creative solutions to odd problems. Promote knowledge expansion in current stack with goal of bringing efficiency.
- Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, program management and team members in a Scaled Agile framework.
- Driving processes around approvals and compliances.
- Driving dependencies resolution for internal and external dependencies.
- Management of risks, impediments and mitigations.
- Deliver results in a timely manner.
Experiences/Qualifications:
- Must be a current contractor with Cigna Healthcare, Evernorth Health Services, or one of their subsidiaries.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in all tracks of an enterprise level Reporting solutions including Platform (cloud based architecture), Security, Data Modeling, ETL, Publish, Visualization and DevOps. Ideally 5-10 years of experience working as a lead in Technology stack for a reporting platform living in On-Prem or cloud. Experience around AWS based reporting stack is preferred. Key components in current stack includes Tableau Server, Cognos, Redshift, AWS services like EC2, Lambda, Glue, S3, Dynamo dB, Cloudwatch, SQL, Python, Terraform.
- Experience leading and directing the activities of a 5-10 person globally dispersed engineering team.
- Experiences in solving problems around scale of data, scaling of Tableau and Cognos implementations for large numbers of tenants and users.
- Hands on experience in using a mix of Python, SQL, AWS Services, Tableau and/or Cognos. Ability to navigate AWS services landscape to choose and pick new services if need arises.
- Ability to navigate BI and ETL tools landscape and choose and pick new tools as new needs arises.
- Ability to successfully navigate complex architectural approvals and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and team/work stream leadership skills.
- Experience working in a player-coach role/capacity.
- Experience working in an agile project with direct entry of stories into Jira.
