Job Description

The Pricing and Underwriting team is looking for a seasoned full stack developer to meet a need within our Corporate Systems department. Our combined team is about 40+ developers, across 5 application teams and 2 domains (Pricing, Rebates). You will be working in the Pricing area and will wear both developer hat - to learn and eventually guide other developers on the team - as well as systems analyst hat - to work closely with our product owners and business analysts. We have a lot of work requests from the business and need more people who can work to take business requirements and translate them into functional JIRA user stories. So you will need to wear 2 hats - senior developer and senior analyst and will be supported by a team of skilled developers and engaged product owners. The project is a critical project and has meaningful impact to the bottom line of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ability to write user interface software in Javascript using React

• Ability to write web services in Java using the Spring Boot framework.

• Ability to write queries and design tables in Oracle, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

• Ability to translate business requirements provided by product owners into JIRA stories.

• Ability to ask questions, learn a critical busines domain (Pricing & Underwriting)

• Work with developers to design and implement code, improve Jenkins pipelines and deploy code to Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and OpenShift environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in software development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred. Experience in Java 8 (Spring Boot) and Javascript ES2015+ (React), Oracle

• Knowledge of modern, cloud-hosted, single page applications.

• Candidates must be team oriented and relational, as the existing team values collocation and collaboration to enable high output and good business value.

This role is WAH/Flex/Remote, which allows most work to be performed at home. WAH/Flex employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if they choose to come onsite or if required to periodically come on site.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
