Overview of the Software Engineering Teaching Assistant:
As a Multiverse Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work alongside our team of brilliant Software Engineering (SWE) Cohort Coaches & Bootcamp Instructors for the opportunity to learn and develop the skills you need to progress into additional coaching roles.

We have partnered with companies like Verizon to deliver a 15-month software engineering program that sets learners up for success in their careers within the industry, and our coach teams are at the heart of how we deliver our programs.
Requirements of the Software Engineering Teaching Assistant role:
You have strong knowledge of fullstack software engineering. Particularly, JavaScript, Node, React, SQL. Proficiencies in other languages (e.g, Java, Python) are a plus.ย
You are passionate about teaching and love creating an effective, rigorous, and data-driven learning experience.
You believe in the principles of applied learning: itโs all about developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviors in a way that can be used in a real context, immediately.
You believe passionately in economic and social mobility and the development of talent no matter what their background.
You have the desire and ability to teach remotely. You will be provided with all necessary technology (laptop, second screen, headset, etc).
You are a strong communicator, an independent problem solver, flexible and resilient with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through; our program content and structure may change to better suit the needs of apprentices, so you must be adaptable and constantly open to iteration.
General Responsibilities of the Software Engineering Teaching Assistant:
Participate in Multiverse Academy, a professional development opportunity to learn how to deliver effective instruction.
Support coaches in delivering quality instruction throughout bootcamp and post-boot camp as needed.
Lead office hours to answer questions, help apprentices debug, and model a problem solving mindset.
Review apprentice assignments with regular cadence and provide adjusting feedback.
Participate in professional development to hone your teaching & facilitation skills.
Attend weekly meetings with the SWE team to align on program vision & goals.ย
Attend weekly professional development with the larger Multiverse coaching team.
Who you are:
You have strong computer science skills whether acquired through a rigorous bootcamp, undergraduate/graduate program, or being self-taught.ย
You have 0-3 years of professional experience.
You have some experience teaching or mentoring learners in either formal or informal settings.
