SciTec has immediate opportunities for a talented Software Engineering Technical Lead in our Boulder office (note: this is not a remote position). Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded, experienced engineer and manager prioritizes the quality of their product and seizes opportunities to be creative, learn and grow for themselves and their team members.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Engineer to prioritize, plan, and execute engineering activities across a software development program
  • Directly contributing to engineering success by performing design, development, integration, and test activities
  • Lead an agile team to integrate multiple software components into an orchestrated framework
  • Providing technical guidance to teams aligned with program milestones
  • This role is considered to be 50% technical and 50% leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A bachelor's of science degree in computer science, engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, or similar field
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with Engineering and Management leadership as well as external partners to deliver complex capability on time and within budget
  • At least eight years professional experience working in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to delivery/operation.
  • At least three years experience designing and developing application container deployment solutions using docker, docker-compose, Kubernetes, etc.
  • At least three years professional experience leading a team for integration/deployment of software solutions preferably using Agile methodologies
  • At least three years professional experience building and executing DevOps or DevSecOps solutions using Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) such as gitlab-ci and/or Jenkins
  • At least three years ongoing experience using Linux operating systems to develop software
  • At least three years ongoing experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, JavaScript
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred

  • An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
  • Experience integrating solutions developed by external partners
  • Professional experience documenting technical solutions and presenting them to government customers
  • Experience with OpenShift
  • Professional experience with software prototyping, development, and integration within government frameworks
  • Experience developing software to exploit OPIR, E/O, SAR, Spectral, RF, or other remotely sensed data
  • An active DoD Final SECRET security clearance or higher

The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
