Job Description Summary

American Axle & Manufacturing has openings for Software Engineers at its ATDC facility in Detroit, MI.

Job Description

Job duties include:

• Responsible for design, development and testing of software components.
• Develop and configure AUTOSAR components.
• Develop low level embedded software drivers including complex device drivers.
• Debug software issues using Lauterbach debuggers.
• Create detailed designs to link the software implementation to the requirements.
• Develop software code in C to implement the software design.
• Conduct unit and integration tests to validate the software implementation.
• Utilize CAN protocols to develop, test, and diagnose the embedded software.
• Programming MCAL peripherals including SPI, FEE and DIO.
• Develop software to an ISO 26262 ASIL C or D level.
• Support issue analysis and corrective action definitions.
• Support safety analysis development and review.
• Develop software for 32 bit embedded microcontrollers.

Required Skills and Education

Position requires: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Computer Science, or foreign equivalent education, and 2 years of experience working in the automotive software development field. 2 years of experience is required in each of the following:

• Working with C programming.
• Working with AUTOSAR components and configuration tools.
• Developing low level embedded software drivers.
• Implementing and integrating complex device drivers.
• Working with vehicle communication CAN protocols.
• Developing peripherals.
• Working with Lauterbach debugging tools.
• Working with ISO26262 ASIL B, C, or D level.
• Working with 32 bit embedded microcontrollers.

Experience may be obtained concurrently.
