Badger Meter is looking to hire a strong integration lead to work directly with customers and third-party vendors on small and large-scale integration projects. This role's most important responsibility will be to act as the primary software point of contact for customers integrating with BEACON - Badger's Meter's proprietary software. The integration lead must fully explain BEACON API and integration capabilities, listen and ask questions to understand the BEACON customers' use case, then advise the best solution, gain customer buy-in, and document the design. This is not a software development role, but the integration lead will configure BEACON and may make minor database and code base updates in collaboration with the BEACON software development team. Customer service is paramount as the integration lead is one of the first points of contact for Badger Meter with each customer once a project begins.
Additional responsibilities include: helping sales scope effort and cost of new projects; answering software feature set questions; interface data analyst responsibilities such as account data validation and report creation; interdepartmental process improvement; gathering and documenting suggestions for software improvement; and assisting other departments such as customer service, training, the customer helpdesk, and the project management office as needed or directed.
Essential Job Duties:
- Lead integration design workshops for MDM (Meter Data Management), SSO (Single Sign-On), EyeOnWater Branding, ESRI GIS, and any other BEACON integrations between the customer and/or 3rd-party IT teams.
- Assist Bids, Sales, and PMO with RFP responses and SOW creation
- Review BEACON system sync files (known in BEACON as 'Accounts and Assets' files) and provide feedback to customers to resolve issues with the files.
- Create Billing Reads files to meet the specification required by a Billing Vendor.
- Perform all tasks which may be necessary for a billing vendor change, including (but not limited to) ID-updates, account clean-up, retrieving legacy system files or generating meter provisioning back up reports, communicating account statuses with customer.
- Update salesforce with completed tasks; monitor for new tasks.
- Troubleshoot interface failures such as import and export issues.
- Demo BEACON billing functionality to customers within the course of a billing integration project.
- Gather customer feedback on BEACON functionality, report internally to marketing, software, and sales teams. Write JIRA tickets for defects identified.
- Be able to create test scripts in .bat, .sh, .py to test BEACON functionality and assist with small-scale system integration projects.
- Maintain close relationships with the BEACON software development teams to understand and provide customer feedback on new BEACON functionality.
- Understand all Badger Meter hardware and meter and endpoint alarms and events.
Qualifications:
- Five plus years' experience as a Business System Analyst or Software Implementation Specialist
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business Systems or related experience
- Experience leading integration design sessions between multiple third parties.
- Experience in software development and software training.
- Experience working with APIs, and SQL, python, and/or basic scripting.
- Experience writing technical functional requirements for software development.
- Experience working directly with customers on multiple projects at once.
- Expert level Microsoft office skills.
Preferred Skillsets and Experience
- Experience with AMI and/or AMR water, electrical, or gas metering
- Experience implementing Oracle SGG and/or SAP MDUS integration standards.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean or Kaizen
- Experience with cloud-based integrator applications.
- Experience defining and conducting software platform security testing.
- Experience working in environments hosted by AWS.

- The ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment and successful track record of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
