Software Integration Test Engineer

Job Description

As a member of Bracco Medical Technologies' (BMT) global R&D Software Engineering organization, the Software Integration Test Engineer will develop test protocols and automated tests to characterize and verify software components and systems integration for Class II Medical Device. Serve as a key member of the Software Development team to ensure testability of requirements and provide input to Development engineers to solidify robust design and code. Participate in technical activities in all phases of the software development lifecycle, with focus on Systems Integration for Concept to Productization for development of medical devices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible to ensure the software technical solution effectively meets the product and system requirements, and the software specifications accurately describe the solution.
• Collaborates with Architect and Lead Systems Engineer to ensure software architecture meets specifications, and there is readiness for verification and validation, based on hazards and customer needs
• Designing, developing, testing, maintaining and documenting/validating software testing components and applications.
• Participate in all phases of product development as needed such as reviewing requirements, design, usability, risk assessment, and testing execution.
• Contributes to the completion of work group objectives through building relationships and consensus to reach agreements on assignments.
• Participates in project teams to ensure the product design is testable and will meet established requirements
• Actively participate in cross functional teams with Software, System Test, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to coordinate activities, produce deliverables, review work and address variances.
• Lead overall Software effort on product development project
• Provide input to requirements developments
• Create Overall Test Strategy and Systems Integration plan
• Develop automated and semi-automated test software
• Prepare test protocols with statistically valid methods
• Analyze experimental results and prepare test reports
• Demonstrate and document coverage of requirements
• Provide input to project teams on task durations and resource requirements
• Provide input to validation test plans
• Provide DevOps support for Development and Testing
• Stays current on changes in engineering standards (IEC, ANSI, etc.) and provides interpretation of standards for verification and validation planning
• Perform work in adherence to the BMT Quality Management System (QMS), including development and maintenance of documentation
• Engage the cross-function teams including Regulatory, Engineering, Quality, Marketing and Operations to improve the process of product development within BMT.
• Lead the definition of requirements and evaluation criteria for third party Engineering Service vendors that can provide surge capacity resources for BMT.

Required Skills

Minimum

• Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for a U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Bracco Medical Technologies/ACIST Medical Systems.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in software development or testing in C# .NET environment
• 2+ years with Test scripts and Python
• Demonstrated experience in scripting languages.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Integration of Software components for device-based software, on-prem and extensibility to cloud-hosted apps.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
• Strong initiative and passion about new technologies with high energy

Preferred

• Advanced degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Familiar with Atlassian JAMA, Jira, Bamboo, BitBucket and Git
• Experience with test automation including GUI, integration, reliability and designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Software development or testing experience in the medical industry or other regulated industry.
• Able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities.
• Strong knowledge of modern, iterative software design processes and development practices including agile and test-driven development.
• Demonstrated results in testing for cybersecurity mitigations
• Knowledge of QSR, ISO/EN and Quality System Standards.
