What you'll achieve

As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer's business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

• Design and implement new features in the Distributed File System to satisfy the requirements on the product roadmap
• Develop software for products in cloud, virtualization, scale-out environments etc. including analyzing and improving system performance
• Interact with customers to troubleshoot and solve complex problems and mentor team members in design collaboration, code reviews, development tools and processes
• Take part in the full software development life cycle including development, test, continuous delivery and support
• Be an active member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test and delivery

Essential Requirements

• 8-10 Years of experience in one or more of the following languages: Go, C, and/or C++
• 8-10 years of experience in system software development, software-defined infrastructure, microservices and distributed storage/file system architecture, hands-on Linux/Unix
• Filesystems development background and experience programming with Multi-threading, synchronization, and data structures
• Good understanding of Systems design and Distributed systems experience
• Experience in Storage domain (SAN/NAS/Virtualization) and its performance optimization

Desirable Requirements

• Experience or knowledge in information security and cryptography
• Experience in Rocksdb performance optimization, debugging and/or enhancements and knowledge of version control, bug tracking systems (Git, JIRA).

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $186,000.00 to $240,000.00
