Position Reports To: Senior Global Product Manager

Position Summary: Brady Corporation is looking for an experienced Software Product Owner to join our Global Product Management group; this position provides an exciting opportunity to work on high visibility programs with technologically advanced Desktop and Mobile commercial products across multiple vertical market segments. The Product Owner is a lead member of the Scrum Team, and is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product roadmap to ensure that the maximum customer value is delivered at the conclusion of each sprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the market-facing Product Managers, stakeholders, and senior executives to define product vision, business goals, client, and end user needs and how these will be met by proposed software releases to ensure maximum business value
  • Work closely with Engineering technical leadership to ensure key architectural roadmap items are woven into the product roadmap
  • Bring team members and stakeholders together to turn high level product concepts and business requirements into software product roadmaps that you own, prune, prioritize and manage on a daily basis to best achieve release goals
  • Collaborate daily and meet regularly with Scrum Masters, Software Engineering Leads, Ux Engineers, and SQA Leads to ensure a continued shared understanding of product roadmap priorities and overall roadmap progress
  • Work with Scrum Masters and engineering team to keep a reasonable amount of the product roadmap groomed, approved and available for the scrum teams to pull into a sprint
  • Actively participate in iteration planning, including the coordination of dependencies with other PO's
  • Contribute to daily scrums, retrospectives and sprint reviews
  • Review and approve all completed stories during sprint showcases for each team involved with the roadmap you manage
  • Lead and coach project teams to achieve business milestones and objectives
  • Communicate with stakeholders throughout the product cycle on the overall progress of a given software release as it relates to the items planned for a release and the items that have been completed in a release
  • Consistently manage the stakeholder expectations
  • Evangelize and drive creation of the future of inter-connected products and services across the organization
  • Work with stakeholders and development teams to prioritize investment priorities, product requirements and portfolio interdependencies
  • Ensure consistency across product lines and shared problem-solving between teams working on interdependent projects
  • Manage and track the financials and mitigate risk for the team
  • Spend time in the market to understand the opportunities or issues, and find innovative solutions
  • Continuously monitor market trends, customer and user needs, and competitors
  • Work with Product Managers on product launches, internal and external product trainings
  • Anticipate internal and external business challenges or opportunities; recommend process, product or service improvements
  • Solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business


Required Knowledge, Skills Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years' experience in the software industry preferably as a product owner, business analyst, product manager, technology architect, Software Developer, Project Manager, or SQA.
  • Prefer at least 2 years of experience in writing and managing software requirements
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks to successful completion
  • A wide degree of technical proficiency, creativity, ability to navigate ambiguous situations is expected
  • Strong analytical, technical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically, less than 10%
  • Market experience is a strong plus
  • Thorough understanding of scrum framework, agile methodologies, team roles and responsibilities in a SCRUM based environment. CSM or CSPO preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment for large projects
  • Solid understanding of commercial product development lifecycle and software development lifecycle for enterprise software applications.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, experience with industrial products/customers, knowledge of safety market or printers are considered a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Visual Studio Online
