The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Software Product Specialist as a mid-level professional to partner with software vendors to design, develop, and maintain complex software components in one or more object oriented programming languages. This role will also demonstrate ownership of requirements, build, integration, and testing of software in line with defined software development processes and tools. This position is located in Rochester, NY. Qualified candidates requiring H1-B or TN sponsorship will be considered.

The Responsibilities

• Partner with software vendors to develop solution(s) / feature(s) including DoD artifacts within an Agile development environment.
• Translates requirements into list of user stories and ensures timely delivery with quality.
• Applies principles of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and participates in / helps improve Agile processes.
• Design's software considering customer workflow, security, serviceability, performance, and code maintainability.
• Determines technical / operational feasibility by conducting system analysis, developing POCs, etc.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills using software debugging tools to investigate field issues.
• Biohazard Lab environment work.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

• Bachelor's degree in a software related field with 2 years of experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years of software architecture experience working with vendors to aid in the development of best solutions.
• Exposure to Web Applications (.NET, Angular, and C#).
• Database experience with SQL Server.
• Experience working with development partners or off-site partners.
• Demonstrates the initiative and ability to explore alternate technology and approach to solve problem at hand.
• Skilled in breaking down problem / work items and estimating efforts.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Experience with technical writing and English fluency.
• Ability to triage product issues and perform root cause investigations.

Key Working Relationships

• Internal: Work with other Instrument R&D and Assay engineering groups & support engineers.
• External: Might require interacting with Customers.
