Software Program Manager

Dematic's growing Americas software team is in need of Program Managers that will take responsibility for the successful execution of projects within a Customer Program, as well as lead small teams of software project managers as they assist in executing projects within the Program Portfolio. The Program Manager, Software Project Management will build relationships with our Customers and Dematic leaders to support implementation of intelligent Distribution Center Software Solutions, and in doing so, significantly impact the Americas Supply Chain.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for the software scope, schedule, resource planning, risk mitigation, change management, opportunity, delivery, and budget of Dematic projects within a Client (across varying degrees of automation or software-only). Make informed commitments to the Client regarding the same.
• Understand and continually drive team towards project acceptance criteria to ensure Client Program satisfaction and success.
• Apply standard project status communication tools, internal and external. Responsible for the change management to deploy the tools across the Client Program, reinforce and continually improve.
• Apply standard project schedule planning tools. Responsible for change management to deploy the tools across the Client Program, reinforce and continually improve.
• Interview, hire, onboard, coach, mentor software project managers
• Manage software scope and utilize change controls relative to requests that impact software scope and schedule.

• Stakeholder for standard proposal templates, which define software roles, schedules, deliverables and customer deliverables relative to software included in solutions for the assigned Client Program.
• Review of new software opportunities within a Program to ensure proposals are actionable and meet ability of software team to successfully deliver.
• Proactively seek ways to identify and mitigate project risks, lead Program team to do the same.
• Establish, maintain and strengthen all aspects of the Program Client relationship

• Coordinate with software application engineering teams to deliver the software for Program projects on time and on budget
• Document project team feedback to drive process improvements for inflight and future projects
• Ensure standard work and execution framework is followed, periodically evaluate, provide feedback on improvements in the standard work and tools.
• Identify project and Program staffing needs, follow HR processes for requisitions once approved.
• Collaborate to continually improve onboarding, training materials and programs for Software Project Management
• Represent Dematic in internal project reviews, as well as external Customer meetings.
• Actively support project retrospectives and knowledge share across and within Program teams

Technical Knowledge, Education & Experience a Candidate Must Possess

• Experience leading project teams
• Track record of successful software project delivery
• Proven ability to lead internal technical resources through problem solving and set expectations with customers.
• Understanding of software development and testing life cycle
• Knowledge of development, definition, and execution of integration and acceptance test plans

• Experience maintaining and managing scope of software projects
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail, Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, MSProject
• Demonstratable understanding of the supply chain market place, ideally in an eCommerce, omnichannel, distribution environment.
• Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar field
• 4+ years of software project management experience
• PMP certification, like certification, or wiliness to achieve preferred
• Experience delivering projects that integrate software with mechatronics as a wholistic solution.

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to embrace a Hybrid work environment, including remote work and visits to Dematic offices and Customer sites
• Willingness to travel 30%
