Software QA Engineer 1 (Hybrid/Remote)

Role Summary:

Under general supervision, applicant conducts manual testing of a highly complex software applications.

Essential Functions:

• Carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.

• Writes test cases supporting cases derived from an analysis of functional requirements and programming specifications.

• Thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects prior to implementation.

• Document and work to resolve problems.

• Implement improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.

• Performs workflow analysis and can recommend quality improvements.

• Establish software quality standards for life cycle, documentation, development methods, testing and maintenance.

• Establishes advanced software test standards and methods and conducts complex software tests.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or strong work experience

• Two (2) or more years of related experience in quality assurance and testing requirements

• Understanding of Jira or other bug tracking tools

• Familiarity with Postman and SQL

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven technical writing abilities

• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability and logical thinking capabilities as pertaining to testing (ie: Front End/Back End; Ad Hoc)

• Excellent inter-personal skills, working in collaboration with onshore and offshore teams

• Ability to work independently and productively

• Adaptive to change and implementing of new technologies & processes

• Proactive with a zeal to learn and have an inquisitive attitude
