Software QA Manager

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases as per the business requirements.
• Taking full responsibility of testing deliverables.
• Work closely with development team by testing applications delivered based on test cases developed.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs and find out the root cause of the bugs detected, analyze the application logs/database/code report them and ensure quality by ensuring its fixed.
• Plan thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved and guide team members to perform testing.
• Plan and Perform testing on the production environment (routine) post deployment by coordinating with carriers globally in order to get the cases tested.
• Coming up with ideas for test automation and implementing them.
• Work with the Program Managers and perform report analysis/testing based on requirement specifications.
• Maintaining the QA environment and performing deployment of the applications, databases, URL's to perform tests on.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
• Responsible for the quality of product delivery to customers and ensure we put out certified releases to customers.
• Be responsible for leading and managing a small team of testers.
• Perform qa team hiring.
• To be able to establish a solid relationship with other team members to understand the vision, requirements, and priorities of our business partners
• Participate in product and feature design with developers, product managers, and business systems analysts
• Develop plans, schedules, metrics, data needs and scenarios for end to end integration testing including areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability as well as environment set ups and build plans
• Maintaining and Reporting on important QA metrics periodically
• Implement tools and technologies consistent with scaling processes in growing companies including helping speed up regression cycles by identifying areas of automation opportunities
• Maintain complete traceability of issues all the way from roadmap to production environments
• Experience in project management and QA methodology.
• Hands-on experience on functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, mobile testing, manual testing, cross platform testing, component testing, security testing, performance testing, automation and salesforce testing.
• Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life cycle (SDLC).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or 8+ years of equivalent experience in related disciplines.
• Good verbal communication skills – comfortable communicating over the phone and in person with sales team members and management staff at various levels.
• Good written communication stills – ability to produce professional documents and emails.
• Must have expert knowledge in Linux, Shell scripting, MySQL.
• Understanding of REST/SOAP API testing and automating test cases using Python and Linux shell scripting
• Good planning and prioritization skills – can deliver on complex tasks and projects, which sometimes have conflicting/overlapping timelines. Sets expectations appropriately and meets deadlines consistently.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment

Desired

• Knowledge on Automation. (Eg: Selenium, SOAP UI etc)
• Knowledge on Networking and Web services.
• Hands on experience with using log analysis tools like Sumologic/NewRelic/Splunk.
• Basic knowledge on Linux System Administration and Virtualization.
• Preferably someone with at least one year of experience in Python scripting and two years of experience in Linux shell scripting with two to four years of experience in software testing.
  Additionally, someone with knowledge of HTTP, curl, MySQL and log processing will be preferred.
• Deployments, Docker, Kubernetes Understanding will add an advantage.
