This role sits at the intersection of technology and sales, where you will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales cycle. You will support enterprise clients in understanding how advanced data management and software solutions integrate into their existing database environments. The position requires a strong ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear business value, helping customers overcome technical challenges and make informed purchasing decisions. You will lead product demonstrations, design solution architectures, and support proof-of-concept engagements in close collaboration with sales teams. The environment is highly client-facing, technical, and fast-paced, requiring both deep database expertise and strong communication skills. This is a key role in shaping customer success and driving revenue through technical leadership.

Accountabilities:

  • Actively support the sales cycle by partnering with direct and channel sales teams to drive technical win strategies
  • Understand customer business objectives and align software solutions to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs to prospective clients
  • Lead and support proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements, both onsite and remotely
  • Assist in developing responses to RFPs and other technical documentation
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor during the pre-sales phase for enterprise customers
  • Provide expert knowledge across data management solutions, database systems, and integration environments
  • Gather customer and market feedback to inform product improvements and enhancements
  • Stay up to date with competitor offerings and market trends to position solutions effectively
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, ideally within enterprise software or pre-sales engineering
    • Strong hands-on experience as a DBA, particularly with Oracle (mandatory) and SQL Server (highly desirable)
    • Experience working with enterprise environments such as finance, insurance, healthcare, or utilities is an advantage
    • Knowledge of cloud database platforms such as AWS, Azure, or similar environments
    • Familiarity with additional databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DB2 is highly desirable
    • Understanding of data platforms including data lakes, warehousing, and business intelligence solutions
    • Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure components such as application servers, virtualization, and directory services
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Experience with scripting languages such as PL/SQL, PowerShell, or Unix shell scripting is a plus
    • Knowledge of database performance tuning and monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, Foglight, SolarWinds) is preferred
    • Familiarity with replication technologies (e.g., Oracle GoldenGate, SharePlex, HVR) is a plus
