What you'll achieve

As a Senior Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer's business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

• Build collaborative relations across engineering teams and orgs while being a key peer / partner / advocate to our development, test and architectural teams
• Work directly with your peers in product management to understand, translate for our team and to deliver exactly what is required for our products while taking into account quality by design principles
• Draw upon experience as well as others to create your own voice of the customer for our products by establishing an outstanding repour with our customers, service, support, sustaining teams, account teams, sales and various external sources to have a comprehensive view point of our product and its customers
• Work daily with your quality architect and dev architect peers to coordinate, communicate and execute our short term goals as a united and unified team
• Be effective in communicating up in the organization successfully to various engineering and Sr. engineering leadership roles

Essential Requirements

• Contribute to the development, implementation, solutions and test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems. Ability to work and lead in a cross-functional team and possess business acumen in the solution space
• Have vast knowledge in data management models including; data protection methods, data protection policies, data movement, quality of service, tiering, standard approaches, practices and paradigms
• Experience in one or more of the following languages: Go, Python, Perl and/or C. Experience in Test automation software development, software-defined infrastructure, microservices and distributed system architecture, hands-on Linux/Unix. Experience in programming with Multi-threading, synchronization, and data structures
• Design and lead the effort on automation, CI/CD processes and tools to create innovative automated test systems
• Knowledge of version control, bug tracking systems (Git, JIRA)

Desirable Requirements

• A deep understanding of AI/ML approaches and where to use such techniques in our day to day work and as well in our products
• You are familiar with DataDomain solutions

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $215,050 - $270,204
