What you'll achieve

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will be a part of a team in a very fast paced, agile environment that requires strong technical ability, flexibility, sound judgement and creative thinking.

You will:

• Design and implement new features in the Distributed File System to satisfy the requirements on the product roadmap
• Develop software for products in cloud, virtualization, scale-out environments etc. including analyzing and improving system performance
• Interact with customers to troubleshoot and solve complex problems and mentor team members in design collaboration, code reviews, development tools and processes
• Take part in the full software development life cycle including development, test, continuous delivery and support
• Be an active member of an agile team, collaboratively realizing features through development, test and delivery

Essential Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience on linux/Unix with a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field
• Strong development/programming experience in C/C++, python, golang
• Experience in designing, implementing, and debugging user level, multi-threaded systems with good understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills
• Knowledge and experience on Linux OS, Kubernetes, docker and container technologies

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in file system or systems software development and Cloud Storage and/or virtualization environments.
• Ability to scale algorithms ( Familiarity with algorithms that work on on-disk data structures is a plus ) without loss of performance along with knowledge of performance analysis tools and techniques for multithreaded systems

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $215,000 - $278,000
