Our highly experienced Technical Support Team provide pre-job planning, delivery, and post-job completion support for our extensive range of technology products and tools for Drilling Services.

As a Software Support Engineer, you will provide software and technical support to users of OFSE and DCF digital applications as well as lead and manage special digital projects (business/team tools, communication tools, dashboards) You will partner with our global Service Delivery team to guide, troubleshoot, and resolve software related problems. You will ensure the flawless execution of drilling tools and products to our customers with our internal software solutions.

As a Software Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide software and technical support to users of OFSE and DCF digital applications.
  • Lead and manage special digital projects (business/team tools, communication tools, dashboards)
  • Update and maintain PL content in various software applications by defining development requirements/enhancements and conduct software testing for DCF specific digital content.
  • Work with DCF subject matter experts to continuously improve digital processes and tools to best fit business needs.
  • Communicate updates to impacted members of the organization by demonstrating new functionality and changes in digital processes and updating/creating procedural documentation for training purposes.
  • Provide support and help maintain DCF HQ databases, Community of Practice, MS SharePoint, dashboards, repositories, and reporting tools.
  • Provide support for internal engineering data collections software, but not limited to, =
  • Ensure compliance with Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process.
  • Subject Matter Expert for their area of software support
  • Able to travel 20% internationally/domestically

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 5 plus years' experience working in drilling services or software development.
  • 5 years' experience in Drilling and Completion Fluids operational experience (field or office) (Preferred)
  • Field or office experience pertaining to Oil and Gas operations (non-DCF) either service related, operator, or O&C customer.
  • 5 plus years in Microsoft Office applications
  • 3 years working with building PowerBI dashboards, SharePoint / Teams sites, and/or Power Apps
  • General understanding of oil and gas operations (awareness of drilling, completions, and rig activities)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead solo projects as well as be a contributor to team projects.
  • Logical reasoning / computational skills and ability to formulate logical conditions to arrive at expected outcomes.

Preferred Software Experience:

• Writing Excel macros

• Designing/building software applications and designing/building/editing web pages.

• Data integration/data mapping

• Using HTML, JSON, WITSML data language.

• Experience of database structures, data modeling and methods (SQL/relational databases and/or NoSQL databases)

• Experience of writing database scripts

Desired Characteristics

  • Thorough understanding of PL technology and Service Delivery requirements
  • End to End knowledge of the drilling and completion process is an advantage.
  • Ability to learn and use various computer tools to prepare data and visualizations for analysis.
