Genova Technologies has an immediate opening for a Software Systems Engineer for an exciting, long-term project in Dubuque, Iowa.

What will you do?

The employee in this position will provide systems engineering support for the continued development of displays for an agricultural product. This work supports core functionality used across multiple platforms. The focus for this role is on back-end (cloud) projects and interactions/interfaces with embedded controllers. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

· Providing assistance to client groups by creating function requirements for use by internal groups including Software Design, Test, Product Engineering, Customer Support, and Technical Publication.

· Providing technical support for integrating with display & camera hardware architectures on vehicles.

· Providing assistance in troubleshooting display warranty from production machines.

· Providing assistance in specifying, developing, and integrating software into sub-systems.

· Supporting connecting embedded software into cloud computing platforms.

· Providing required verification tests to meet performance and quality requirements.

· Providing assistance in managing development including resource assignments, maintaining schedules, and providing project status. 

This role is expected to engage with client’s engineers, suppliers, and client’s customers to refine embedded software and hardware prior to and during the software design and development activities. 

What do you need?

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

· 5+ years of experience in a software-related role (degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering may count towards this requirement)

· Some experience in:

 Requirements writing.

 Software testing.

· Basic or advanced competence with:

 AWS or Azure cloud platforms (2+ years).

 APIs.

 Ethernet protocols.

· Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal).

· Proven problem-solving abilities.

· Soft skills and organizational skills to work with many people from multiple teams.

· Ability to align and negotiate wants and needs between teams while meeting customer expectations.

· Self-starter willing to drive work with limited prior definition.

· Must be onsite in Dubuque, IA.

Skills we consider a plus include:

· Software design experience - to support communication and documentation preferably with C#, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFormation.

· Experience testing/developing in an embedded environment. 

· Experience with CAN.

· Familiarity with web security terminology and practices.

· Experience with Interfacing between cloud/server and embedded systems.
