Salary Range

$99,700 - $166,800
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like

The Custom Enterprise Apps & Services (09748) development team is seeking a motivated and experienced Software Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team!
The selected applicant will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, will be passionate about using software engineering best practices, and learning new technologies.
On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Analyze, design, develop, and deploy .NET web applications
• Develop new custom solutions and maintain existing solutions for a diverse set of enterprise customers
• Test, debug, and refactor front-end and back-end web application code and refine applications to produce the required product
• Prepare required documentation, including program-level and user-level documents

This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Qualifications We Require

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or relevant field plus eight (8) years' experience; or an Associate's degree plus twelve (12) years' experience; or sixteen (16) years' experience
• Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Full-stack web development
  • .NET Core
  • Angular 2+
  • Relational database design and development
  • API design and development
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance

Qualifications We Desire

• Automation, orchestration, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) including tools such as puppet, ansible, docker, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc
• Cloud development
• Testing, debugging, and refactoring front-end and back-end web application code
• Experience with the Solutions Delivery Lifecycle (SDL)
• User Experience focused development
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Technical leadership and experiencing with mentoring junior developers
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify creative solutions
• Willing to work in a team environment, either remotely or on-site
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and prioritization skills
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and motivated to continuously improve processes and skills
• Active DOE L (or equivalent) clearance

Position Information

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
