Job Summary:
AssetWorks is seeking an experienced Software Test Automation Engineer to help build a test driven and quality-first culture. You will work closely with the team to ensure our high-test standards are maintained while driving new test strategies and processes.
This is a" lead by example" role. The successful candidate will be able to balance changing priorities. From enhancing and maintaining the automation test suite and framework, to assisting with manual testing (as required), to evangelizing best practices to the team. You have a desire to learn and solve problems in the pursuit of excellence.

This position is remote in North America and will report to the Senior Software Development Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, development, build, and maintain automated test scripts.
- Drive the team's testing and automation strategies.
- Propose and implement improvements to automation and test processes.
- Maintain test infrastructure and tools.
- Participate in team planning and story grooming.
- Conduct test reviews, improve and maintain quality of the test coverage.
- Define and organize the teams test planning for releases.
- Publish regular reports that measure the efficiencies and ROI of implemented automation.
- Work to streamline operations for efficiency, cost saving, and reliability of the products and processes.
- Providing concise and clear information in bug reports that developers can work with without needing extra information
- As needed, write and execute manual regression, test planning, test case creation, environment setup, functional and regression testing, and bug creation and validation.
- Produce internal documentation, as required
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Computer Science, or other related area of expertise.
Position requirements:
- 5 + yrs in test automation or Software Engineer with experience in Quality Assurance processes & methodologies, writing and executing testing strategies.
- Experience building and maintaining test frameworks, tests and tools.
- Expertise with automation tools, such as Selenium web driver, postman etc.
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automation infrastructure and architecture.
- Experience with relational databases, such as SQL, Oracle, etc.
- Proficiency in a modern front-end language such as JavaScript, or a modern systems language such as C# (preferred).
- Experience utilizing APIs (SOAP, REST, GraphQL, etc.)
- Experience with source control ( Git, Github.)
- Experience building and maintaining testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of writing effective test cases and test scripts.
- Effective listening, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Successful time management and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both as an individual and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Passion for technology
Nice to have:
- Experience with Test Rail
- Confident in Agile platform; Experience with JIRA, Confluence
- An understanding of quality assurance as part of the development and implementation process
- Ability to understand and write API tests
- Lead and mentor team members in automation
- Understand Best practices for code development
